Laboratory Consultation Services, Inc. was founded in 1978 by a group of experienced clinical laboratory professionals. Initially, they provided consulting services to commercial and physician-office based clinical laboratories, including training staff in infection control practices to comply with state and federal regulations. As OSHA began requiring compliance with bloodborne pathogen regulations, Laboratory Consultation Services expanded their portfolio to include these services.

In 1992, New York State mandated that licensed healthcare professionals complete certified Infection Control Courses as part of the licensing process. Being experienced in federal OSHA training and clinical pathology, Laboratory Consultation Services became one of the first providers approved by New York State for this training. Recognizing the growing importance of the Internet, they later transitioned their courses online.

Over time, Laboratory Consultation Services expanded their offerings to include other state-approved courses such as NYS Child Abuse Certification and NYS School Violence Prevention. They have successfully served thousands of professionals in nearly all states and over 50 foreign countries on six continents. Their courses are continuously reviewed and updated to provide up-to-date information in an easily accessible format. Additionally, they offer a newsletter subscription and provide secure payment options for their services.
